How to Put Accordion Lessons to Use

JUDE PARRY: On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Jude Parry. I'm with Gold Coast Theatre Company here in Miami Beach, and today we're going to be learning Beginning Accordion. Okay, so this is a little demonstration [PLAYS ACCORDION]. Okay, octave higher [PLAYS ACCORDION]. And what I did there was I played it an octave higher but if you were to read it in the music, then it might be way up here. To write an octave higher, we'd have to write in extra lines and that's why they write it over here so you will recognize what kind of a note that is and you'll be able to think to yourself, "Oh, this is an F or a C but it's just a little bit higher on the keyboard." It's just a way of thinking of it. On behalf of Expert Village, thank you for watching.
