JUDE PARRY: On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Jude Parry. I'm with Gold Coast Theater Company here in Miami Beach and today, we're going to be learning beginning accordion. Okay, we've been mostly been using the treble keyboard using these 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 fingers on C, D, E, F, G, G, F, E, D, C. Now, we're going to move around a little bit and it's important that you learn the geography of the keyboard as you go along. I always use my finger to feel whether a space is between the keys, because you can tell there are more keys black keys than spaces, so I always know there's a space there, it's going to either be the C or the F. And you know by the position of your hand whether you're at C or at F. So that's how I use it. It's always best not to look at your hands, because you always want to either look at the music or you want to look at the audience, but because, of course, you are going to become a professional player.
