JUDE PARRY: On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Jude Parry. I'm with Gold Coast Theatre Company here in Miami Beach, and today we're going to be learning beginning accordion. Okay so when you're first playing the accordion, it's--let's assume that you haven't even ever played the piano before, so you start with two hands and each of your hands is going to be playing one side of the accordion, and at the same time your arms are going to be pulling out the bellows. Now you'll see right here, my thumb is on an air button, this allows me to press the bellows in and out without any sounds, otherwise, they won't move until I hit a note. So we'll be using all three elements to try and produce a tune. Okay, we've got two hands. I'm going to start with the right hand. If you look over here, you'll see the right hand, we're going to to number the fingers and thumb 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. So you'll see as we go through the music and if you're looking at the music, you'll see how we can use the fingers to make tunes basically 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. And you can follow me as I play along lesson by lesson.
