Tips for Maraca Rhythms

Hi, I'm Aaron Bland, on behalf of Expert Village. And I'm going to demonstrate kind of a culmination of all the techniques that we've used before. We've built up to the point where we've got two maracas in one hand, two maracas in the other. We've talked about doing unison rhythms. We've talked about doing alternating rhythms, playing different pulses. What I'm going to start out with right now is straight time pulse on one hand, just to kind of keep time, and the other hand, over this ostenado or this constant, I'm going to play just some different rhythmic patterns. And then I'm probably going to demonstrate and kind of embellish some other techniques that you can use, starting with straight time.
