How to Make Shapes for Jewelry out of Coiled Wire

Today we're going to learn how to make shapes out of a coil formation. What you're going to want to do is start off with your wire. Any type of shape, I would obviously have a little longer wire depending on the shape that I'm going to make. I'm going to start by grabbing the end of my wire at the very end of my needle nose pliers if I want to make it a thicker shape. When you use needle nose pliers, you need to make sure that you maintain the shape all the way through because they're different shapes as further as you go up the pliers. You have to maintain the shape of wherever you grab the pliers. Say we have a shape like this that I've made with my pliers. Now what I can do is grab the end of this and pull out the shape to make it a little more like a slinky. Then I can actually just use my hands or my pliers to curve it around. In this particular moment, we're going to make a circle. Now I can add bead to the inside. I can use sewing thread to give it a little accent like this. I can add pieces of thread here and add a little something to that, or you can curl it around in a swirly shape. It just adds a little bit extra to your jewelry. That's how you make shapes using coil.
