Today we're going to learn how to make earring hooks. Making your own earring hooks is a lot of fun and saves you some money. Today we're going to learn how to make them with the wire that you already used. You can see that I have cut a bit of the wire. It's a little over an inch. We're going to start right at the end grabbing using your pliers to grab the very end of the wire. You're going to start twisting your wrist to make that little loop. Once you've made that, you're going to start about 1/8 of an inch in. Grab your pliers, make that twisting motion again, but this time a little thicker. Keep twisting around to make an S shape. Use your wires or your hands to flatten it. Then about halfway down your wire where you just made the loop, you're going to put a little bend in it. This is typical of what you see in earrings. At the very end, the opposite end, you're going to cut off any excess that you have. To finish it off, you're going to take the flat end of your pliers, or if you don't have all in one pliers, grab some flat pliers just to flatten out this very end piece and to make it straight. This is the part that will insert into the earring. When you're finished, you'll have something like this. That's how you make your earring hook.
It's too hard to see. :-(
