Definition of Parts for a Jack Plane

Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip I would be talking about more parts of the jack plane. By the rear handle we have our lateral adjustment lever. Moving down we have our lever cap screw and this is what would hold some of our components together. Below that we have 2 frog screws. Now those 2 frog screws would hold on this component which is called the frog. Here we have our depth adjustment knob. This is going to allow us to take deeper cuts or shallower cuts. Connected to that depth adjusting knob we have our yolk which is located right there. If we remove the frog, we have our platform for the frog and the opening down at the bottom is the throat or the mouth.
