AMANDA CLAIRE: So, another thing that you're going to need once you start installing your own modifications to your project is a drill and different sized bits. This is a project that required-- it looks like 3, at least 3 different sized bits, so I used a very very fine bit to drill the holes that were used to install these steel-headed thumbtacks. There is one there. Here is one and here is one. Remember I used those as what we call body contacts. They are connected to the circuit board inside and by touching two of them on the outside, you're completing the circuit but you're also kind of acting as a resistor at the same time. Kind of interesting, I needed one size of drill bit for that. I needed a different size bit to install this little --the shaft of this little dial here, and I needed a different sized bit to install this which is a 1/4-inch jack which is, so I can plug this thing into an amplifier. So it's nice to have a lot of different sized drill bits on hand and kind of a drill. If you do use a drill, make sure that you have a battery pack. This--I brought this one today. I left the batteries at home but I'll bring them before we use it. But yeah, this has a rechargeable-battery pack and you just kinda put the bit that you want to use and the drill, you can drill different sized holes you need to install components. A really handy thing to have on hand. Another thing that I'll just mention briefly which I didn't bring with me is a Dremel. If you know what a Dremel tool is? It's really useful for sometimes drilling kind of irregularly shaped holes. So for example these switches here, I needed kinda some rectangular holes. So for that, it was useful to just maybe drill a few pilot holes using the drill and hen I use a bit on the Dremel tool to kinda connect them and to kind of almost like clean it out and round it out so that I could fit those switches in there. So, drill different size bits and a Dremel tool are all really useful things largely for modifying the case that you're building your project in.
