Learn What Items are Preferred Among Circuit Benders

AMANDA CLAIRE: Okay, so when you're looking for something to circuit bend, I'll tell you what some of the favorite things of a lot of circuit benders are. A lot of circuit benders like toys, kid's toys and here's--I don't know--I got a couple more down here. This is another one, this one hasn't been circuit bent yet so we'll probably be taking this one apart in this Expert Village series about circuit bending. So this is an example of one, I don't know what have I got here, this is another kind of thing, kid's toy. There's tons of these things out there and so many different ones, each one has its own circuit board. Another thing that a lot of circuit benders like to bend is guitar effects pedals, which if you remember or if you know anything about guitar effects pedals, they run off of a 9-volt battery generally, so that's kind of safe to get in there and circuit bend that. A lot of circuit benders also like to get into slightly more professional keyboards like--well, of course I have some strong feelings about this that I'll tell you a little while but Casio has made some kind of classic keyboards that are now classics. This is the VL-Tone, one that I personally would never circuit bend but that's not to say that they aren't very popular. There's another Casio organ that is a sampling organ that was kind about in the 1980's that was very, very popular at the time and is also very popular among circuit benders also. So when you're looking for things to circuit bend, remember if it runs off batteries and if it makes sounds that you like, it's a probably pretty good candidate.
