Starting the Petal Folds for Origami Azalea

Now we're going to start working on the petals. If we look down here, you can see that I've got this piece folded over. This is what we're going to do. We started out with our little triangle piece here. What we're going to do is we're going to take this edge and we're going to fold it over like so. What it's going to do is we're going to fold it at the same angle that our stem is folded up here. Just fold it over. Then we're going to take the other side or our kite shape here and fold it over to meet that. As you can see, my point it a little rounded. Not so much of a point, but it doesn't really matter. You're not really going to see that part as much. That's what we're going to do. We're going to pull those 2 to meet together. Now, we're going to open this up just a little bit. Kind of open this up and we're going to start here and start pressing this flap like this. This is going to be the shape that actually is going to hold our flower together. Do the same thing here. Open it up starting down here. Like I said, that rounded point isn't going to matter so much because I'm just pressing it out right now. There we go. We're going to do the same thing on this side.
