Cleaning Tips for a Power Planer

Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, I will be talking about cleaning your power planer. First off, I like to take a little bit of compressed air and just blow off any of the debris that has accumulated on the planer. You also want to make sure to get those vent holes real good. This is what will bring air into the motor and keep that cool. After that, I always like to go over the tool with a rag just to wipe off any grease or sweat or anything that might have accumulated on the tool. And then what I like to do is take that same rag and clean off that cord. Again, the cord is the lifeline of your tool so you want that to be free from any debris, oil or grease. And lastly what I like to do is take that same rag, and I am going to very very carefully clean around the blades. A lot of times debris will build up around those blades and it will clog it from cutting nicely. So if I just clear away all of that tool, it is going to ensure the life of my tool will be longer and my cuts and finished products are going to be much better.
