Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, I will be talking about maintenance. First off you always want to make sure that you have sharp blades on your planer. A dull blade will give you added end product and it could potentially cause injury. Next you will frequently want to remove and check the carbon brushes. Inside the carbon brushes will help your tool run properly and once those carbon brushes do reach their wear limit, you will need to replace both of them at the same time. Also you will want to frequently take a look at the cord to make sure there are no wears, tears, breaks or rips in the cord. The cord is the lifeline of your tool and since this tool does have several sharp blades on it, frequently the cord will come into contact with the blade and cut a little chunk out of it. So you just want to make sure that it is in good condition. Also the plug end needs to be in good condition with all the prongs and those prongs can't be bent or anything like that.
