Personal Safety for a Power Planer

Hi! This is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip I will be talking about personal safety. First off you always want to stay alert, watch what you are doing and always use common sense when operating the power planer. Next you want to make sure you don't have any baggie clothes on. I'm not wearing any gloves or dangley jewelry. Anything too loose could get sucked into the machine and cause an injury. To avoid accidental starting before you plug in the tool, you always want to squeeze the trigger once just to make sure that the trigger lock is not engaged and that the tool is actually in the off position. And lastly you always want to make sure that you have an approved pair of safety glasses. Now on your safety glasses, somewhere it should say Z87. This is going to tell you that it will actually protect your eyes.
