How To Use the Loop in Table Tennis

Hi, this is Jared on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip I am going to elaborate a little more on the loop. Now, again like I mentioned before, this is more for advanced players because it used a lot of skills from various things we've used before. Now in the loop, like I said, the ball is going to be coming and you are going to barely graze the ball with the racquet. If you put too much racquet on it, the ball is going to fly off the table so you have to close your racquet and barely nick the ball so you can put a lot of power and a lot of speed on the ball. But because you're just hitting it barely, the ball will stay low and go to that side of the table. Now again this is a pretty difficult shot but if you can do it it is extremely effective. This generates a ton of top spin and in a match when your opponent sends the ball deep, whether be top spin or under spin, you can step back, let the ball drop and pick it up with a heavy lift. This is used for a very effective and fast offensive attacks.
