Hi, This is Jared on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip I'm going to talk more about the form of the push and the chop. These two strokes are for under spin. The form is going to be where you're going to come out and meet the ball with a push like this. In this you'll be using mostly elbow and some wrist to generate under spin. So you'll come out and meet the ball like this and push it. This is going to be how most points are began. With an under spin serve and instead of trying to attack it you'll push it back. This is safe because with a top spin attack you'll most likely hit the net. If the ball is began with under spin. If your opponent serves an under spin serve you meet it with a push. Now a chop is similar to a push except it is a lot more spin and it's away from the table. If your opponent hits a far shot and you want to generate under spin, you can't push because it's going to be deep. Instead, you'll step back and and you'll do a big motion using mostly shoulder arm. You'll do a big motion and you'll chop it like this. It can be forehand like this or backhand like this. This style is mostly seen as defensive. Instead of attacking you are sending heavy under spin back at your opponent like this.
