Hitting Form Techniques for Table Tennis

Hi this is Jared again from Expert Village and I'll be showing you about some more about just different techniques and some form in doing these. The first thing we talk about is the hits or you can call it the drive, or if you use more force, it's a smash. Now, you're going to want to be like this behind the table where your left foot is a little bit forward and your right foot is a little bit back. You want to have your elbow a little bit out from your body and you want to use a lot of waist, so it's one smooth motion. You don't want to have your arm straight to where you're using your shoulder a lot. You want to have a lot in the elbow and a little bit in the wrist so it's very smooth. And with the drive and the smash, this will be used primarily for warm-up, so you can figure out your stroke and get a good feel for the ball. But, also, when a point starts, where the top's been served, most likely it will start with a few drives and smashes before it can turn into some more powerful moves. So, most likely, when the serve is top-spin, you'll start with this basic form.
