Adding Lining to Bikini Bottoms

JENNIFER CROW: Hi, this is Jennifer and I'm the owner of wedgiewear.com, and we're here with Expert Village. Okay. So now that you have both sides of your suit done, now you can kinda just want to focus in on your band now and just kinda make sure that you go through and make sure that you really don't have any mistakes or anything or--'cause this would be a good time to fix those. Okay? So now what you can do is--before you actually put on your band, you want to think about your lining. Lining is very important. You can get this at JoAnn's or any craft store. It is a little bit different than a wholesale. Wholesale is a little bit more thicker. The ones that you can buy at the store is a little thinner but it's really not that much of a difference. So what we want to do here is just spread it out again and kind of just measure from where you want it. And again, you don't also--'cause you will be sewing this onto the suit, you don't want it to be noticeable. You don't want it all the way up to the middle of--the bottom of the suit or anything. So what we'll do is just take the end of the fabric and then just cut it right across. Okay, so now you just have your piece of lining and you're going to sew it here. So the good part is you can always do this just to kinda measure a little bit more. And you can just do your one side at a time. So make sure the length that you want is pretty good. Here, it's probably a little bit too long so I'll go ahead and cut some off. And you also do want to make sure if you are dealing with stretch material of any kind, you do also want your lining to be stretched as well. Okay, and then that's probably a good length and everything for it to be. So what we're going to do is just fold it over and you're just going to sew it here. You want to make sure that it doesn't go over the top. So we do want to be very careful when we're sewing on.
