Soy Whip, Salsa, Cheeses, & Meat Alternatives as Staple Foods for Vegan Diets

WHITNEY TESLER: Hi, my name is Whitney Tesler on behalf of Expert Village. And I'm here to talk to you about how to become a vegan. We're about to go raid my fridge. What's this? So much good stuff. Soy Whip, another one. It's not the best for you but it tastes really good. It's just like the real thing and you can make little ice cream sundaes so--if people say that vegans don't eat, they don't know about this stuff. Salsa, also an excellent ingredient to have. I love making nachos with beans and different vegetables on it; avocados, tomatoes and olives and salsa. There are also cheeses that you can buy that are vegan, that are really good. Follow Your Heart is one of my favorites and I don't have any at hand because I ate it all yesterday. But salsa is really good; chips and salsa, everybody likes that so even if you have a non-vegan boyfriend, such as [INDISCERNIBLE], it's good to have around. Some of my favorite things to eat for lunch and dinner include cold cuts and Not Dogs and this brand is local but if you can't find the SoyBoy brand, there are plenty of other brands that make hotdogs and sausages that are really good including Tofurky: These are turkey slices. You can use them--I use them on Thanksgiving; you make turkey rolls-ups with stuffing and gravy on top and I also make sandwiches. I make grilled cheese with the Tofurky slices on them and avocado, red onions and cheese. It's really, really good. And Smart Deli also is a great brand. They make a funny--I mean, they make a variety of cold cuts so they're really good too.
