How to Do a Stamp Combo in Tap Dancing

Hi, this is Sarah McLellan in New York City here at June Parody's Dance Studio. On behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to teach you today some basic and beginning tap moves. Come on in! So now that we have learned some of the basic steps. We are going to start doing a little bit of a combination. This is made up of stamps, slaps, ball changes, and something that you can practice all the time and when you feel a little bit more confident you can do it faster and you can feel a little bit more advanced. So let's get started. We are going to start the combination with 2 stamps, you are going to lift your toe, ball flap, ball flap. Then we are going to do the stamps a little bit faster stamp, stamp, ball flap, ball flap, ball change. So let's try that again stamp, stamp, ball flap, ball flap, stamp, stamp, ball change. So you can see it is a syncopated when it gets to the faster stamps. So stamp, stamp is nice and straight, ball flap, ball flap and then we are going to stamp stamp. You are going to push it a little bit. Stamp, stamp, ball flap, ball flap. So just practice that combination and as I said make sure that you push the beat a little bit on the second stamps.
