How to Do Moving Step Heels in Tap Dancing

Hi, this is Sarah McLellan in New York City we at June Parody's Dance Studio. On behalf of Expert Village I'm going to teach you today some basic and beginning tap moves. Come on in! So all of these across the floor steps are really important to kind of get your confidence, get your movement happening in these steps. They are basic steps but what we can do is as you get a little bit better you can start to do them faster. So the next one we are going to try is the basic step heel, step heel across the floor. Alright I'm going to start them slow with a nice even tempo. Step heel, step heel, step heel, step heel. Nice solid sounds. Now we are going to get a little bit faster step heel, step heel, step heel, step heel, step heel, step heel. Keeping in underneath you, get a little bit faster step heel, step heel, step heel, step heel. Very good!
