How to Play Half Diminished Chords for Jazz Saxophone

For Expert Village this is Mitch Kaplan and in this clip we will be talking about half diminished chords. The only time we will talk about this little further, it is in the diatonic scale and I will explain that in just a moment, but this is built up of, you would lower the third a half step, you would lower the fifth a half step and you would lower the seventh a half step. So this is what I would say we will start on C to be consistent, then we would lower the third, which is E flat, lower the fifth which is G flat and then we would lower the seventh a half step and there you have it, a half diminished scale, a half diminished chord rather.
