Hello! My name is Lindsay on behalf of Expert Village.com. In this clip, I am going to be showing you how to layout the dimensions for your pillow. First you are going to want to take your material and make sure your folded edge is in the left hand side and you are going to want to put it across your table and make sure all the wrinkles are out and flatten it out. You are going to take your measuring tape and put it on the folded end on the side. Before you mark the dimensions on your fabric, make sure it is the side you want to be on the inside of your pillow because we are going to be flipping the fabric inside out after we sew the pillow together. From the inside seam, you want to make sure that you mark one inch and I have decided I am going to make my decorative pillow about 14 inches long. So from that 1 inch I am going to take my measuring tape and put it at that 1 inch mark that I just made. Then I am going to make another mark at the 14 inches. On this other side, you are going to make another 1 inch mark. So I am going to mark where the 14 inch mark was and go one more inch and mark that. Where you want the top of your pillow to be, you are going to do the same thing. You are going to mark 1 inch from up top and from that line go another 14 inches, mark it down here and then go 1 more inch past that and mark that. Then you are going to want to take your stretch edge and make a straight line across. It doesn’t have to be really dark just as long as you can see it and know where it is. On the side where the 14 inch mark was, you are going to make a straight line down and you are going to do this all the way around with every mark that you made. That is going to be how big your pillow will be.
