Caring for Sanders

Hi, my name's Kevin, and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to talk to you a little bit about care and maintenance of your tools. When you're done with your tools at the end of the day what you want to do is take this; take the tension off the belt. Take the belt off and same with this one except you don't have to take off the sanding pad. You want to blow your tools off. That's just as simple as taking some compressed air, getting all the dust out of the machine. As you can imagine, with a sander, this thing is being constantly caked with dust. You want to do everything you can to keep that from getting clogged in there and effecting the moving parts. Everyday take it, same thing with on this; leave the pad on, you don't need to take it off. Just keep the good and moving parts clean; don't let them get clogged up with dust they'll run a lot longer. On this machine, you can leave the belt off and store it. In general, it's a good idea to leave the pads on this guy so it doesn't affect the pad here. But on this, it's as not as much to worry about. At the same time, you can put this right back on there and it will be just fine.
