ALEX BOYE: Hello everyone. How you doing? My name is Alex Boye. We're here on behalf of Expert Village. We are talking to you today about how to use the microphone and its stand. You see this microphone here and the stand, this is the star right here, all right? This is the boss right here, but you gotta tell him that you have--you have to show it who is boss. I know--I remember there was one time a guy--who is it? Gosh, I can't remember. An artist who--the mic went out, okay, you would have thought the show was done. The mic went out and so he took it, he kicked it down and he just carried on singing. He made the band just stop and just carried on singing, and the audience started clapping. So, what turned from an--a potential catastrophe ended up as a huge showstopper. Don't let this control you; you control it, all right? One of the things I love--okay, you got James Brown that does it a lot. He messes around with his microphone, you know, "Huh!" and go this, "Huh. Hey!" Now, make it hot. [INDISCERNIBLE]. Huh! Give me here!" You got Prince who does this, "Turn around. Aw! Aw! Oh! Oh! Ah! Ah!" brings it around, all that stuff, all right? "Hey!" I'm telling you man, that stuff is beautiful to watch, beautiful to watch. I did this thing where I'm kinda crazy. I did this and I'm like, "Hey," and I go like that. "Hey!" Crazy stuff like that. I'm telling you man, it works! People love it. I used to have this thing where I tie a piece of string on it and then I'll bring it down and I bring up the string like that, oh man. The ladies loved it, man. And I still do it every now and then when I can find some string. These things, it works, okay? So, be creative on the stage. Use your microphone and microphone stand. Use it as an accessory, as a tool, as a prop. I guarantee you, these little things are what helps you sell more CDs. See you on the other side.
