Guitar Solos with Good Stage Presence: Part 2

ALEX BOYE: My name is Alex Boye, I'm here on behalf of Expert Village, and we're talking about how to not suck onstage, how to have stage presence, and right now, we're using a guitarist, a singing guitarist as an example, and some things that we can do to make our stage show improve. Alright, so we just have Mike who just played a wonderful little ditty. Alright, there, I think it was Beatles or something like that, my people. Alright, so, well I told Mike, he started and he played and he didn't use a microphone but he knows, if it's a live one, he's going to use it. Well one thing I want to say, Mike, is that this is a superstar, right here. Alright? And sometimes, it totally takes over the whole show. So, sometimes you gotta put the superstar at the side and you're going to show who's boss. So, when you start your intro, 'cause this is where you're going to be all the way at the song. No! Start your intro out here. You're not singing. So, you start your intro here, right? Right there. See, all of a sudden, what you've done--and this is might--it might sound weird--you have changed the volume of your show right there and then because all of a sudden, you've broken and surpassed and you're showing them a different angle. I'm going to talk to you a little bit more about angles on the other side, okay? Now go on our way, we'll go on our way.
