Hi my name is Carey Kepler; I’m a functional training coach. I coach triathletes and do triathlons myself. If you would like to improve your sports performance, improve the quality of your life or have questions about the following exercise please contact me at http://www.boundless-energy.com. This exercise is primarily to strengthen the legs for the bike, while you’re riding it’s primarily a single leg dominant sport. So you want to make sure that you train the strength of your single leg. Go ahead and build the step, start from about eight inches, you can build it up to about twelve to sixteen. You’re going to use a single leg, you can add weight as you build strength, you’re going to go from about ten to twenty repetitions as you get stronger. You’re going to leave the single leg up as you step up on the bench, tap to make sure you have balance, lower slowly and you’re going to step back up. Again, you want to make sure to perform this exercise on both legs.
