Hi, I'm Joseph Hickerson, pit manager in a local casino and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to give the introduction on how to play casino style craps. In this clip we're going to talk about laying odds. Just as the don't pass is the opposite of pass line and the don't come is the opposite of the come line, laying odds is the opposite of taking odds. Let's take a look. We had already established a don't pass bet. Eight became the number. Now of course we don't want eight to roll and we can back up our bet just as we backed up the pass line by taking odds, we're going to back up the don't pass by laying odds. Now again, they're the opposite so on the pass line, every nickel I bet on the six and eight, I got paid six dollars for. Because it's opposite, I have to bet six dollars to win five when I lay my odds. The five and the nine pay the same as a black jack if you're taking odds and you win. So therefore, you have to bet the bet plus half the bet to win. Example there would be fifteen dollars to win ten dollars. Now, you don't just back up your don't pass. You can also back up your don't come bets. Bets that are established behind the numbers can be backed up with those same laying of the odds. So just remember, just as the don't come is opposite of the come, don't pass is opposite of the pass, laying odds is just the opposite of taking odds.
