How to Back Up Bets in Craps

Hi, I'm Joseph Hickerson, pit manager in a local casino and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to give the introduction on how to play casino style craps. In this clip we're going to talk about backing up your bet by taking odds. Backing up a bet with odds is very simple. We established ourselves with a pass line bet. Then we establish a point. In this case, it's eight. So we've now got a point of eight and we can back those odds up. It be done by simply placing a bet behind the number. Some casinos have one to two but generally the casinos will allow you to back up with up to twenty times odds. One, two, three times, twenty times. Pass line bets are not the only bets that take odds. You can also back up any come bets by taking odds on them as well. They pay the same. Remember, odds are paid depending on what the number is that you're rolling for. Six and eight, for every nickel you have bet, you're going to get six dollars back. Five and nine, for every nickel you have bet, you're going to get seven dollars and fifty cents. It's time and a half, just like in black jack. And a four and ten, which are your extreme numbers to make, get paid double, which means for every nickel you have bet, you'll get ten dollars back.
