Heating the Pole When Building a Spiral Staircase

Hi! I am Weldon Moon on behalf of Expertvillage.com on building spiral staircase. The next step after we have cleaned up the spiral is to take and heat the pole. This is an interesting step in that when you have actually welded it, the pole will corkscrew on you and pull everything out of shape. So you need to go back and heat it in order to straighten it out and this is an important step in order to get a nice spiral. At this point we will go around and I will just show you heating the spot here and about what you need to do on that What you need to do is you need to heat on every step just straight across the more you weld it. You need to heat up the spot about red, almost red to the size of the sliver dollar.
