How to Check Engine Fluids

Hi, I'm Jack from Burt Brothers and on behalf of ExpertVillage.com today we're going to show you how to properly check your fluids and the importance of it, okay. First of all, you want to raise your hood, look for the different caps, and reservoirs here. You can see this one right here is for window wash, okay, that would be where you would fill your washer fluid, okay. You take the cap off, fill the fluid in there until it's full and properly tighten the cap back. Okay, look at your brake fluid reservoir, the reservoirs; most of them are see through, where you can see the proper level. That one is fine. Next fluid we want to check is your antifreeze. Same thing with the reservoir, you always want to remember to read the cap that will tell you exactly what it is. Never open this one hot, there's a strong caution right there. The antifreeze is good in this vehicle here. It's very important to check your fluids regularly, at least every 3,000 miles, maybe when you're having your oil change performed to have those fluids filled. It's very important to check those, check your oil, it's very important to check your antifreeze, especially during the cold months, if you're in winter climates just to make sure it's got proper amount of antifreeze in the vehicle so your car doesn't have some problems. You can check your air filter, there's a proper way to do that, keep all your fluids filled to the proper levels, that will help you keep your car running smooth and not have any problems.
