Teaching Skip Counting by 5's

Wait until they've mastered the counting by 2's and then the next most important pattern will be counting by 5's. You can use the same number grid, just use different color if you'd like to circle your 5's. That of course would be 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30. Once they get past the 5, 10, 15, 20, it basically becomes, now some of these notice I have a green circle on a red circle, try to keep your circles from touching. Maybe make the circle bigger or smaller. But once you get past the 20, it kind of just repeats the pattern; 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and at that point the only thing you have to worry about is them accidentally forgetting which number comes along and saying; 45, 60, 65, 80, or something like that. But you know, just work on it, correct it and pretty soon you will have mastered counting by 5's.
