How to do a Cross Body Lead for Men

Alright guys, what we're going to teach you now is called the cross body lead. In this style of dance, it's a New York style dance on 1. This cross body lead is very, very important. We use this a lot. It's basically, guys, our way to take our female from one side to the other. Cross body lead. We're leading the girl right across our body. Let me demonstrate first. Looking at you, its going to go like this. 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7. I'm going to do it this way to demonstrate again. 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7. Let me break it down for you guys really quick. Let's start this way first. Guys, you're going to go forward with your left foot on 1. You're going to step in place with your right leg on 2. What you're going to guys is you're going to push off your left leg and open up on 3. Let me do it this way as well. You're going to forward on 1, step in place on 2, open up on 3. Guys, what's really important here is that you look down at your feet and make sure you are not in your girl's path. The girl needs to walk through, so you can't have this foot in front or you're trip her. From this position, we just stopped on 3. Guys, on 5, you'll take the right leg, step in place on 5. You're going to push off this right leg, step forward on 6, and come together on 7. Let me do this from the back. You're here on 3. You're going to step in place, 5, step forward, 6, together, 7. Let me demonstrate full speed again. 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, step, step forward, together. From here, we go right into our basic, guys. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6. One more time, basic, 2, 3, cross body lead. 1, open, step, step forward, together, basic, 1, 2, 3, 5 and stop.
