How to Use the Outboard Gear of Your PA System
DENIS DOWNING: On behalf of Expert Village, this is Denis Downing at Roxy Studios, New York City and today, I'm going to show you how to set up some band equipment. Okay. Now, we're going to talk about this part of the PA which is our outboard gear. Here we have a digital reverb, here we have digital delay and these digital effects get put into the board and then we select where we want to put them through. We have these auxiliaries down here. They are coming through there, okay? In this way, we could add as much or as little as possible to each channel if a vocalist wants reverb on this channel, this one wants--there's dry which is no reverb and this guy wants just a little bit, we could arrange that, okay? We could take the same reverb unit and distribute it as we need it through out the channels, for who needs it. Down here, we have a graphic EQ. This is what we use to ring out the room and this helps us fight feedback. On behalf of Expert Village, thanks for watching.
