How to Change a Drum Head

DENIS DOWNING: On behalf of Expert Village, this is Denis Downing at Roxy Studios, New York City and today, I'm going to show you how to set up some band equipment. Okay. Basically, if you break a head, you want to change your drumhead. Okay. What you want to do is loosen a little out of time across like this, across with each other, keep going across until they're all loose. And once they're hand loose, then you could take them out. Okay. And you remove the hoop and then you would take the broken head off, put the new head on. I generally like to check all the insides of the drum to make sure it's tight while it's off, okay? Basically, what you're going to do is tighten it back down.
