How to Install Window Insulation

H,i I am David Belch and today I am with Expert Village to show you how to install windows. I take my window here and slide it all the way to one side. You take the insulation and peel the insulation into pieces. You slide the insulation in. You want to make sure that you put enough but not too much. If you cram it too tight, it loses its insulation value. You have to have air in. This is what they call dead air space. If it gets too tight, then it can transfer the hot and cold. With the air, then it stops that. Just for the reason if you had these two pieces of glass, this is insulated glass and if the two glasses were touching, you would lose any insulation value that you had. By having the separation you have dead air space which actually works as an isolative wall.
