Questions & AnswersHi, I am David Belch for Expert Village to show you how to install windows. Okay we have different size windows of course and it is always good to measure the opening before you take the window out. I have already done that and this is the appropriate window for this opening. It comes packed and I have already taken the all the wrapping off of it. I don't need the header. The header I don't need. The header is a header extension in case you have a serious out of square window and you need to make the window a little smaller and then this will adjust the height to carry the rest of the opening. This is important and I will show you this later. The window comes with a label and gives me all the information I need. This is a DP45 window which is required in this area. I will remove that label before it gets sun struck and it is not as easy to remove. These are important, the screws. There is a half screen and it can be ordered with a full screen. The full screen allows you to lower the top sash but this does not work and the reason is you have a void here. So if you want to lower your top sashes you have to order a full screen. The best way to pick the window up is to bring the sashes up and the screen to you because you are outside. Pick the sash up and bridge it with your hand and your elbow, lean it across your forearm and your shoulder and you are hands free.
