How to Install a Truck's Caliper Bridge

Hi my name is Nate McCullough on behalf of Expert Village. In the following clips we're going to talk about the correct procedure for replacing your upper and lower ball joints on a two wheel drive, full size vehicle. In this clip we're going to talk about the proper way to re-install our caliper bridge. The caliper bridge is going to fit onto the vehicle just like so. It has two mounting bolts here and here. We're going to thread through here and to here. Take it and slide it into position and start my upper bolt. You are going to want to start both bolts before you begin tightening one down. If you just start one and run it down tight, odds are your going to run into the situation that the other bolt hole is not lined up. You then have to loosen the bolt you tightened down and install the lower bolt. My half inch drive socket wrench. This particular vehicle takes an 18mm socket. We're going into the tightening direction, we'll slip over here to the back and tighten them down. These bolts are made of a heavy gage, grade A steel and it's ok to go ahead and pull them as tight as you can. Alright, and there you go. That is the proper way to re-install your caliper bridge.
