Making a Crisscross Weave for Quick & Easy Hairstyles

My name is Lauren and on behalf of Expert Village I'm here to talk to you about styles on the go. Another way in order to create your hair a little bit more stylish and a little bit more trendy while you?re placing it back and just keeping it away from your face is to do something called a basket weave or criss cross patterns. You will begin by separating your hair by the hairline, grabbing a section about an inch and a half to two inches wide, I normally just take a bobby pin to get that section out of my way, cause that will kind of hold it down as we go. You're then going to grab from diagonal, right where you ended that one, you're going to grab another one, and you see the diagonal parting which is going to go into the back. So, this one, if you would think of it in shapes is going to be more of a rectangle and then you're going to be creating more of a triangular shape in the back. You can spray this piece of hair a little bit, or you can use a little pommel or molding mud, whichever you choose, just to kind of create that smoothness, I do find that the more sleek this look is and the more product you use, the more you can see your patterns that you're creating. You simply pull your hair to the side, following your parting, twist a little bit, just in order to hold that pin in, push your pin in, grab another section, what you're ultimately going to do is criss cross, going back and forth, section by section, you're going to drag this piece up and over the other one, which will in turn help hide your bobby pin that you placed in that one. Again, that little twist, push it in, take your front piece, this one I'm going to overlay and go this way, you may want to make it a little bit more severe, so that way you can see that you have that piece of hair there going this way and you're creating that criss crosser that basket weave with two pieces of hair. Put your clip in, this one you can bring to the other side, put your pin in, you're already starting to form that criss cross pattern which is something just a little bit more unique, a little more trendy rather than just putting your hair back. You can follow this pattern by using these pieces of hair and grabbing and repining. So that piece I'm going to leave out for just a moment while I lift this piece, bring it up and over, place in your pin, then I'll take this piece, criss cross over that one, by bringing it down and over. Now, you can create this look, this criss crossed look, where you have a little bit more of a pattern going on in the front through the entire front of the hair just by grabbing random pieces and bringing them over so it almost looks as if your hair is placed in that pattern of a basket weave. Something a little bit trendy, something a little bit more stylish, and actually very easy to maintain and very easy to go. Once you put it in it will stay there all day. So it will give you a nice look for the rest of your day. Something a little unique.
