How to Attack in Basic Heroscape

MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike with the Expert Village, and now we're going to discuss attacking or how to attack in Heroscape, the basic game version. Now as we see here, we have our Dumutef Guard, and we have our Marro Drones However, unfortunately, the Dumutef Guard is in his move phase, and he will move his six, but he will actually move three, and he finds himself face-to-face with an isolated Marro Drone, who is part of a squad. Now, he is going to attack and how you do this, is you say that, "I'm now going to attack this Marro Drone." Now, what the attacker will do is read the card and as we see here, this big hero has an attack of four. So we will take four of the red attack dice, which are the dice that have the skull and the blank spot and are red. You will take four attack dice and you will roll them, and as we see here, I only rolled for an attack of one and in response, your opponent will get to roll three defense die because the defense of a Marro Drones is rated at 3 as we see from its card, and so they will roll three and they have defended two. Since there was only one, then this Marro Drone is actually safe from the big swipe of the our Dumutef Guard.
