Tax Table Tips on a 1040A
Okay, once you've completed line 27 and determined your taxable income, you need to go to line 28 and figure the tax that's due on that income. If, for example you're taxable income was $77,390 you'd have to find that amount in the tax table. And in this example you can see that $77,390 is between 77,350 and 77,400 so the tax on that income if you were single would be 15,776. If you were married filing jointly 12,191, married filing separately is 16,161 and head of household is 14,519. So once you find your appropriate tax, you enter that tax amount on line 28.
