When you're a beginning violinist one of the most important things you can do is make sure that you're having good practice time. As a beginning violinist, one of the most important parts of good practice is making sure that you're doing anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour of practice time. You need to make sure that where you're practicing is quiet; like the room I'm sitting in. There should be no outside sounds; no television, no radio, no people outside of the room making noise. You should also make sure that whether you're standing or sitting; you create perfect posture for yourself. Remember; back away from the back of the seat, feet on the floor, shoulder rest in position, wrist curved, and bow in correct position and held correctly. There's nothing more important than making sure that you're holding your violin properly, and making sure that it's perfectly tuned. Even this violin; right now the A string is slightly flat. Before you ever start practicing you need to make sure that you're tuning your violin. Remember; the perfect saying for a violin is perfect practice makes perfect performance.
