When you're playing the violin, you're not limited to your ability to move the bow and understand the notes in order to make sound. There are also different ways that you can move your hands and fingers, in order to make a variety of different sounds on the violin. The first way that you can do this is called pizzicato. What you'll do in pizzicato is keep your bow on your lap. You won't need it this time. Bring your violin up to your chin and use your finger just to play. You'll take your thumb and place it at the corner on the right side of the neck, so you'll be using your right hand for this one. And, use your pointer finger. And, you're done! Now, another way that you can create other sounds with your hand is by vibrato. You've probably seen me doing this before in other segments. You'll notice that my wrist is moving at this point. There are several different types of vibrato that you can do using your finger for movement, your wrist for movement, or your entire forearm for movement.
