I truly appreciate your lessons. The are clear and easy to understand. You present the lesson very well. As a self taught multi-instrumentalis t I have decided to learn fiddle / violin and have been looking for good lessons. I have bought several dvd's and none provide the lessons that you teach. PLEASE submit more especially on teaching the technique to bow 2 strings at a time which is a problem I am having as well as vibrato I am lost on that as well...lol Again thank you for such great lessons... ken www.myspace.com/shel donroad

Violin Scales for Beginners

On a violin, the sounds go on a scale from A, B, C, D, E, F, AND G. Every note on the violin falls within this scale; whether it's an A, an A sharp, an A flat, or an A natural. There are never any other letters included. So, the way that you can find these notes on the violin is you have open strings that will play each of the major notes; which are G, A, D, and E. What these sound like when they're in perfect harmony are.. What this is is a perfect fifth. One step of a fifth from G to D; a step of a fifth from D to A, and a step of a fifth from A to E.
