This particular chromatic tuner shows every single note that you're playing; whether it's sharp, flat or right on. You can probably see it moving back and forth between notes as I'm talking, but let's use an exact note on the scale just to show exactly what the tuner does. So you can see it staying directly on one note there. Let's use it to tune the violin. I'm going to play the A string, and because this violin is not in tune; what you're going to see is a different note come up on the tuner. Because a G sharp is showing on the tuner instead; we know that the violin is slightly flat at this point on the A string, so what you're going to want to do is take your violin; put it up on your knee, and make sure that you're tuning the peg away from you. Tuning the peg away from you makes the sound go higher; going toward you makes it go lower. So I 'm going to turn the peg just a little bit, and we'll see if that makes a difference on the tuner. As you can see now; we have a perfect A.
