Separating Eggs for Pineapple Gingerbread Cake
Hi, this is David for Expert Village and today we are going to be making a gingerbread pineapple upside down cake. So now we are going to have a whole egg that we are going to crack. So again instead of hitting right here because it really pushes the shell right into the egg, I like to do a flat surface so I like to go like that and go ahead and just pour that right in. So now there is your whole egg. Now what we want to do is have also a egg white here that is going to go in and we are going to separate this. So here is how I like to do it. Go ahead and crack it just like that and instead of having the whole thing go in. I would just go ahead and put the white over here and go right through you fingers. So now I have our egg white. Also we would just pour that right in here, so now we have 2 egg whites and a yolk. Then we are just going to use our whisk and just whisk that together.
