Cleaning the Furniture When Refinishing Wood Furniture
Hi! My name is Jennifer and I have over 10 years of wood working experience and I am a general handyman. What we have been doing for the past couple of steps now, is we have been sanding down this bench here to prepare it for some refinishing and some new stain. Now staining is a very involved process but it also is important that you have done all the steps prior to the staining. It's not just as simple as wiping down and coming up with a new stain. What you need to do is make sure you have done all the steps we have talked about previously. You need to go through the grits, sand down with the different grits of sandpaper until you come out with this smooth finished, unfinished wood like what we have here right now. What we also want to make sure is that we have a cloth that we can wipe off all of the little sawdust bits to make sure that we have a clean new slate to start with all over again.
