How to Do the "T" Stunt in Cheerleading

Hi! I'm Mandy Butler on behalf of Expert Village and I'm going to talk to you today about cheerleading motions. Now I'm going to go through proper technique for the T motion. Now, when I hit my T, I'm going to look a lot like the capital letter T. My elbows are going to be nice and locked and my hands are going to be in fists. It's very important that you have your arms a little bit in front of you rather than in the back of you. You should be able to see your wrists in your peripheral vision. I'm going to put my arms out. Notice my right and my left both are nice and extended, and they're slightly in front of me. You can see right here the difference between correct T placement and what is too far back, or too far forward. This is the correct T position. If I want to check where my shoulders are, and if my arms are properly placed, I can bend my elbows breaking my T and then I put it back. Now I know I'm correct. This is a T. You're going to see this a lot in jumps. When I hit my toe touch, I'm going to be in a T. In a lot of side line dances, chants, and band dances, you'll see this motion. This is a T.
