How to Add Ribbon to Flat Panel Christmas Decorations

I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village and today I'm showing you how to make a Christmas tree ornaments out of fabric. Now I'm going to take my pinking shears and these are pinking shears and we use them around this edge as well. As you can see they are kind of scallop or pinked edges and this actually helps fabric from unraveling. Felt you don't really have to worry about it unraveling with because it holds up very well. But this actually give it a nice finish look. So we are just going to go ahead and just go along the edge. I don't think I'm going to follow the curve on this like I did over here. Over here I followed the curve of the pattern. But this is I'm going to go ahead and make as much of a square as possible. Just go along all 4 edges. Just kind of make sure it is pretty even on both sides like that. Then along the top. I'm just about done we want it to be nice and even. This one just has a little bump at the top so there you go you see how cute that is. It is very very cute. We do have to attach some ribbon to it and we are going to do this. We are not going to poke a hole through this one what we are going to do is take our string and just cut a little piece. However long you think you are going to want. I think my is kind of long, cut it a little bit. You can always trim it to if you think that it is to long. Then just get a hot glue gun and put a little dollop of glue on your ribbon and then put that on top of it the other piece so they are holding together. So now you have this little loop and now we are going to attach the loop and you are going to find where the center is. Kind of mark it with your finger and then just go ahead and put another little drop of hot glue. Then you are going to take your ribbon, put it down right there, push it down, you are going to let it dry for a minute. Be careful when you are pushing it down because the glue is pretty hot. This one is okay, it is not too bad. There is a very very cute Christmas ornament; it is the 3 wiseman. I love the theme it is part of the nativity story and it is just a really cute ornament homemade with a lot of love. I'm sure that is going to be appreciated for many years to come.
