How to Keep an Impromptu Speech Short

We're learning how to make an impromptu speech. You get just a few minutes to find out the theme you want to pursue, you get yourself some notes that you can write down a simple little outline, a little introductory remark maybe, a nice story at the end. We talked about eye contact and emoting. Let me give you the other number one thing to making a great speech and that is, keep it short. The less you plan on saying, the better. And when you think of saying fewer things but saying them very well, you will give people a great deal of comfort, encouragement, excitement, joy, fun, it's great when somebody stands up to say something and everybody was wishing they could hear more. When you learn to keep it short and you work through a nice smooth transition from take off to flight to landing, even if you're just making a simple speech at a Christmas party, I guarantee, it will take the fear out of it for you and it will bring joy to everybody else there and you know what? You could actually get good at this.
