Hi! I'm Dr. Eric Sayer from Sayer Family Chiropractic. I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment, I'm going to talk about how to avoid strains of the low back. Low back strains can even happen in those people that are just in desk jobs or very stagnant type of positions. They sit in one position for a long period of time. Posture may be bad. They slump. They sit there for hours on end, and it'll strain those muscles that aren't designed to do that. Our bodies need to move, need to work, always need to have a little activity without being over excessive. Things that would be helpful would be taking breaks. One-minute break every hour would be ideal. Changing chairs. Changing from a roller chair to whatever would be another idea. Even changing your workstation, whether it's changing the keyboard down, up, just so that you're not stuck in one position for a long period of time. Whether it's standing or sitting, it's just tough on the back.
